The swarm catcher is attached to the bottom of the hive to prevent the swarm from flying out. The queen and drones remain in the catcher, while the worker bees fly out as usual. A removable side cover allows for the removal of drones. When the swarm catcher is placed in front of the hive entrance, frequent checks are necessary to ensure that the drones do not block the exit slots.
