Depending on the season, the type of bees and the location, it takes 4-10 days for the bees to fill the mat. Even though it is better for you to wait for the mat to be full, you can replace it when you inspect your hive. To work, air must come in from the top of the frames, the bees feel the draft and fill the holes in the mat with propolis. Make sure that when you put the mat on top of the hive, that the top ventilation is open or leave a small opening for about 3mm between the top and the propolis collector.
